David Brevik developed in the 90s and early 2000s lead the Action-RPG hits Diablo and Diablo 2. After the sexism allegations, the design guru dissociates itself from his former employer Blizzard. He says he will never work there, no longer buy product from them, Blizzard had died for him.
Who is the father of Diablo? David Brevik (53) reasons the studio, which later became known as "Blizzard North" and was there from 1993 to 2003 the president of the company. How was that in the Diablo team? Brevik was asked on Twitter if it came to such incidents in Blizzard North as well as in the main studio.
Brevik says (via Twitter): It was actually a single time at Blizzard North to come to such an incident. He has done there but Rigoros passed through and fired the person in question, although the "best friend for more than 10 years" had been at the time.
He pursue a zero tolerance policy in his career. In the few cases after his time at Blizzard, where there had been such incidents, he immediately released people.
Brevik says: The incidents at Blizzard "empowered him and made him angry". So angry that he can hardly talk about it. He feels with the victims and solidarizes with the employees of Activision Blizzard, which protests.
