The Gamescom 2021 takes place again without visitors, even if the organizers hoped for a long time, to hold the game fair regularly. So the audience must take place again in front of the screens and pursue the show digitally.
No Nintendo on the Gamescom 2021: Nevertheless, some large publishers have already promised their participation in the fair, including Ubisoft, EA and Activision. Of the three console owners, only Microsoft is of the game. According to Sony, Nintendo has now announced that they will not participate in the Gamescom 2021.
Nintendo is waiting for the return of the fans
In a statement, Nintendo Europa explains to Gameswirtschwirtschaft, why the company also exposes the Gamescom 2021 after Gamescom 2020:
"We are important to events that our novelties can be tried. We wish we very much that we can welcome the fans personally as soon as possible."
Switch OLED can not be shown: Games could theoretically be made available through demos, but with another thing that is not possible: the switch OLED. Nintendos New Hardware, which will come to the market on 8 October, would certainly have become a highlight of the show.
Since now only trailers and demos can be shown, participation for Nintendo results in little sense. Over the Switch OLED, everything was said at the announcement, another video does not need it.

Nintendo Direct in September? Allegedly Plant Nintendo in September another Direct. According to rumors, the games shown on the E3 should be taken closer under the magnifying glass.
